Fundraising remains challenging, operational value creation is the focus, and co-investments are emerging as a strategic tool for building relationships between GPs and LPs: The FCM PE Survey 2026 paints a nuanced picture of the current private equity landscape. The study is based on 247 responses from fund managers, primarily from Europe and North America. About 70% of the participants are partners or managing directors and are thus directly involved in investment decisions. As in previous years, the focus is clearly on the small- and mid-cap segment, which is considered particularly indicative of structural market trends.
