Changes in Consumer Contract Law – What Fund Managers Need to Know

On June 19, 2026, comprehensive changes to consumer contract law will take effect in Germany. The new regulations are based on the amended EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive (EU) 2023/2673), which the German legislature has largely transposed into national law on a one-to-one basis. For fund managers, the changes that are particularly relevant are those affecting digital subscription processes as well as consumer information and cancellation policies prior to a fund subscription.
