The family cooperative as an instrument of wealth succession?

Time and time again, the question arises as to whether a family cooperative is also suitable as an instrument for asset succession. From the first impulse, the cooperative’s “self-help” character seems to offer itself especially for asset succession. After all, who would you want to help more than yourself and your family? Only on closer inspection does it become apparent that the cooperative is rarely the instrument of choice.
