POELLATH advises cleversoft GmbH on strategic partnership with Levine Leichtman Capital Part-ners

Munich-based cleversoft GmbH (“cleversoft”), a leading pan-European provider of business-critical software solutions for the financial services industry, has entered a strategic partnership with mid-market private equity firm Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (“LLCP”) after a five-year partnership with Main Capital Partners. Florian Clever, founder and CEO of cleversoft, as well as the existing management team will remain significantly invested in the company and will drive the future growth of the group. POELLATH advised Florian Clever and the management of cleversoft on legal matters within the context of the transaction.

Founded in 2004, cleversoft is a leading European provider in the field of cloud-based regulatory technology (RegTech). The company supports more than 1,000 global banks, asset managers and insurers worldwide in meeting their compliance obligations in a constantly changing regulatory environment. Cleversoft employs over 180 people and, in addition to its headquarters in Munich, has offices in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, The Hague, Luxembourg, Sofia, Malta and Geneva.

LLCP is a mid-market private equity firm that has successfully invested in companies in the franchising & multi-unit, business services, education & training and engineered products & manufacturing sectors over the last 39 years. LLCP currently manages USD 9.3 billion in assets and has offices in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Charlotte, Miami, London, Stockholm, The Hague and Frankfurt.

Together with LLCP, cleversoft will expand its RegTech service offering on a global scale, especially through acquisitions in new regions such as the U.S., as well as by expanding its regulatory product portfolio.
