POELLATH advises GALA Group on strategic acquisition by Trend Group
Trend Group, a second-generation family business active in glass production, energy, logistics and real estate, has acquired GALA Group, a leading supplier of candles, room fragrances and natural decorative items. With this transaction, the GALA Group gains a long-term strategic owner who will continue to drive the company’s growth, strengthen existing partnerships with leading FMCG brands and international retailers, and provide additional value to customers worldwide. POELLATH provided comprehensive legal and tax advice to the GALA Group in connection with the acquisition.
Based in Ansbach (near Nuremberg), the GALA Group was founded in 1972 as a candle manufacturer and is now one of the world’s leading manufacturers of candles, home fragrances and home accessories. With around 3,500 employees and production and distribution sites in Europe, North America, and India, the company offers a trend-oriented, innovative and sustainable range of products that are sold in over 75 countries. The company has a long history of success in working with global FMCG brands and retailers and is known for its focus on design, innovation and quality.
Trend Group, based in Radom, Poland, employs more than 1,000 people in its various business divisions. At the heart of the new partnership is Trend Glass, one of Europe’s leading glass manufacturers and a long-standing supplier to the GALA Group. Trend Glass produces around 300 million glass products annually, including vases, candle holders, and bottles, for over 300 customers worldwide. Since its founding in 2003, Trend Glass has represented the highest quality standards, innovative capacity and an ambitious strategy in ESG and climate neutrality.
