POELLATH advises management on MPP in the sale of Flender to Carlyle

In the fourth quarter of 2020, technology group Siemens sold its mechanical drive technology subsidiary Flender to US investor Carlyle. The price was EUR 2.025 billion.

European antitrust authorities approved the transaction earlier this year. Siemens bought Flender from private equity firm CVC in 2005 for EUR 1.2 billion.

Flender employs approximately 8,600 people worldwide and achieved pro forma turnover of around EUR 2.2 billion in fiscal year 2020. Headquartered in Bocholt, Germany, the company provides mechanical drive technology for a range of industries, including the wind power sector.
