POELLATH advises management of Sanoptis Group on sale to Groupe Bruxelles Lambert

Investment holding company Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (“GBL”) has acquired a majority stake in Sanoptis Group (“Sanoptis”), a leading network of ophthalmology practices and clinics in Germany and Switzerland. The seller was the European private equity firm Telemos Capital (“Telemos”). GBL is providing up to EUR 750 million in equity for this transaction. As part of the transaction, the existing management will increase its stake in the company through a significant reinvestment. POELLATH provided legal advice to the management of Sanoptis in the context of the sale regarding the reinvestment, as well as the management participation.

Founded in 2018, Sanoptis Group has quickly become Europe’s second largest provider of high-quality and innovative ophthalmic treatments. The group provides care to patients with both statutory and private insurance in more than 250 facilities in Germany and Switzerland. Sanoptis performs over 1.3 million conservative and 170,000 surgical procedures annually and has become a market leader in Germany and Switzerland through acquisitions and organic growth.
