POELLATH advises Sapphire Ventures on a funding round of USD 80 million in Contentful
Sapphire Ventures led the round along with the US venture capital firm, General Catalyst, as well as six other new and existing supporters. Contentful's total financing thereby increases to approximately USD 157 million. Sapphire Ventures had initially invested at the end of 2018.
The startup was launched in 2013 with offices in Berlin and San Francisco and currently has 400 employees. It provides a content platform to manage and send content to any digital channel, such as web, mobile, wearables and digital displays. The company states that its content platform is already being used by 2200 customers worldwide; these include corporations such as Spotify, Bang & Olufsen and Lenovo.
Sapphire Ventures states that it has more than USD 4 billion in assets under management and, since its inception in 2011, it has invested in more than 100 companies in over 10 countries and supported more than 55 exits.
