POELLATH advises the CEO and co-owner of the Neumann Group on Igneo’s investment

Igneo Infrastructure Partners (“Igneo”) has acquired a majority stake in the Neumann Group, a leading German platform for the recycling of incinerator bottom ash from waste-to-energy plants. The transaction is being financed through Igneo’s latest European Diversified Infrastructure strategy. With its investment in the Neumann Group, Igneo aims to support the company’s next phase of growth, strengthen its market position, further expand its role in the circular economy, and drive expansion into additional geographic markets.

Closing of the transaction is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. Following completion, Igneo will become the majority shareholder of the Neumann Group. André Hartl, the company’s CEO and co-owner, along with the existing management team, will remain invested in and actively involved with the business.

Headquartered in Burg near Magdeburg, Germany, the Neumann Group is one of Europe’s leading providers of recycling and waste management services. Through its integrated platform, the company processes approximately 1.5 million tonnes of bottom ash from municipal waste incineration plants each year and employs around 320 people. The recovered materials are transformed into valuable raw materials and high-quality secondary construction products. The company’s services include recycling, logistics, and waste management solutions for operators of waste-to-energy facilities.
