POELLATH advises Lavatio on acquisition of Witteler & Burkhardt Großwäscherei

Lavatio GmbH (“Lavatio”), a portfolio company of the Argos Climate Action Fund, has acquired Witteler & Burkhardt Großwäscherei GmbH (“W&B”), an owner-managed provider of textile services for commercial customers. With the integration of W&B, Lavatio continues its regional expansion and sets another important milestone on its way to becoming a European market leader in sustainable textile services. The previous shareholders of W&B will remain involved with Lavatio Group and the location through a reinvestment.

Lavatio was acquired at the beginning of 2025 by the Argos Climate Action Fund of the European investment firm Argos. Since then, the company has accelerated the decarbonization of its business, particularly by optimizing logistics and modernizing operational processes. The acquisition of W&B is already Lavatio’s second takeover in just three months and underlines the company’s consistent buy-and-build strategy with a clear focus on climate impact.

Witteler & Burkhardt Großwäscherei GmbH, based in Ladenburg (near Heidelberg), relies on state-of-the-art industry 4.0 technologies with a high degree of automation, as well as a comprehensive, efficient energy-saving concept using heat and water recovery and solar energy. Its customer base includes more than 60 hotels in the Rhine-Main and Rhine-Neckar metropolitan regions. W&B employs around 100 people and has a capacity of up to 55 tons of laundry per day.

Lavatio provides textile rental and laundry services to more than 2,300 active customers in the hotel, catering, healthcare and workwear sectors. Following the acquisition, the company employs more than 1,000 people and processes around 300 tons of laundry every day.
