POELLATH advises Maxburg on the sale of Autmatec to HOCHTIEF

A portfolio company advised by Maxburg Capital Partners (“Maxburg”) has sold its stake in autmatec Leitungs- und Netzbau GmbH (“Autmatec”), a leading German specialist company for high-voltage and extra-high-voltage overhead transmission lines, to construction group HOCHTIEF. Autmatec’s existing management team will continue to lead the company following the transaction and drive its further development within the HOCHTIEF Group. Closing of the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals. POELLATH provided tax advice to Maxburg in connection with the transaction.

Based in Walldorf near Heidelberg, Autmatec specializes in the construction and maintenance of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage overhead transmission lines. The company covers all project phases across the value chain of overhead line projects, ranging from site preparation, foundation works and tower construction to conductor installation and project management. With approximately 80 employees, Autmatec primarily serves transmission and distribution network operators as well as utility companies in Germany.

With around 57,000 employees, HOCHTIEF is one of the world's leading infrastructure and construction groups. Through the acquisition of Autmatec, the company is further expanding its activities in the energy infrastructure sector and strengthening its position in the market for power grid and transmission infrastructure. The expansion and modernization of electricity grids are among the key infrastructure projects of the coming years.
