P+P advises company founders of CeleraOne on sale to Axel Springer

Axel Springer SE ("Axel Springer") has acquired CeleraOne GmbH ("CeleraOne"). P+P advised CeleraOne founders and shareholders Moritz Hilger and Tim Eggert on the transaction.

Axel Springer is a leading digital publisher in Europe. The company is headquartered in Berlin, operates in more than 40 countries and employs over 16,000 people worldwide. Axel Springer is divided into three segments: classifieds media, news media and marketing media. Digital operations account for close to 70% of turnover and more than 80% of performance (adjusted EBITDA; status: 2018).

CeleraOne is a provider of paid-content technologies in the German-speaking region. CeleraOne was founded in 2012 and specializes in real-time processing of large amounts of data. Currently, 38 employees at the Berlin headquarters develop solutions for authorization and payment processes of digital content. The company founders Moritz Hilger and Tim Eggert will remain associated with CeleraOne long-term and continue to act in their current capacities.
