Funds managed by Ardian acquire shares in SwanCap Partners GmbH

Funds managed by Ardian have acquired shares in SwanCap Partners GmbH from UniCredit Bank AG and the holding company of SwanCap's management. Ardian had prevailed in the bidding process. The holding company of SwanCap's management retains a minority interest in and monitoring functions with regard to SwanCap. P+P Pöllath + Partners advised SwanCap management on both transactional and fund aspects.

UniCredit Bank AG had sold a part of its private equity portfolio in 2013 to funds managed by SwanCap. UniCredit Bank AG retained an investment in SwanCap; the senior management at the time of the UniCredit Private Equity division invested in the funds managed by SwanCap as well. P+P was likewise involved in the original disposition and launch of the SwanCap funds.

SwanCap is an independent investment management and advisory platform with offices in Munich, Luxembourg, Milan and New York. SwanCap is specialized in private equity buyouts and has predominantly institutional investors. SwanCap currently manages around EUR 3 billion in private equity investments.

Ardian is a private investment firm with approximately US $90 billion in assets managed or advised in Europe, America and Asia. Ardian wishes to further expand SwanCap's market position with the proven SwanCap management.
